Truly focus on education and health programs, so Aceh’s people have educated, well-trained, skilled, and healthy human resources
Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) – Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian told Acting Aceh Governor Achmad Marzuki to prioritize several programs ranging from education to health and COVID-19 handling.
“Truly focus on education and health programs, so Aceh’s people have educated, well-trained, skilled, and healthy human resources,” the minister delivered the remarks while Acting Aceh Governor Achmad Marzuki was sworn in to the office in Banda Aceh on Wednesday.
As the central government’s representative in Aceh, Marzuki was expected to host programs that were in accordance with national, provincial, and regional development programs, he stated.
The acting governor should be able to develop positive relations with all stakeholders, such as Nanggroe Aceh Guardian, Sharia Court, Aceh Regional House of Representatives, regional leadership coordination forum, important cultural and religious figures, youth, and women.
He also reminded Marzuki to prioritize the handling of COVID-19 issues, which had yet to cease despite its rate constantly declining.
“Post-pandemic economic recovery; implementation of effective, efficient, and targeted expenditures; encouraging MSMEs by utilizing domestic products; pressing down the poverty rate; and so on,” he elaborated.
The minister noted that Aceh Province is rich in natural resources, though the most important aspect was to improve its human resources to produce a creative and innovative generation, so that the natural resources could be managed well, which would then offer tangible benefits for its people.
Marzuki stood to benefit from his position as a bureaucrat, as he could be a neutral entity since he was not from any political party, the minister said. This position enabled him to build sound relations with everyone, either political parties or Aceh regional leaders, who were backed up by political parties.
His experience as commander of the Iskandar Muda regional military command also provided him extensive knowledge and experience pertaining Aceh, so he could decide the best policy and measure to address issues in that region.
“Let us sustain the conducive, safe situation, and (let us) pray for the conducive situation to last, because stability of security is one of the (keys) to ensure development in Aceh,” the minister concluded. (INE)
