Seven dead after minibus collides with truck in Central Java

Semarang, C Java (ANTARA) – Seven people were reportedly killed after a minibus rammed into a truck on the Semarang-Batang section of the Trans Java toll road on Monday morning.

Chief of the Public Relations Services of the Central Java Provincial Police Senior Commissioner Iqbal Alqudusy confirmed the accident involving the minibus and truck heading for Semarang from Jakarta.

“The identification of the victims is still underway,” he added.

The accident occurred when the minibus Toyota Hiace, with police number W 7202 NA, hit the right rear side of the truck, with police number L 8835 US. Thereafter, the minibus shook and plunged into a ditch.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.

It is believed that the driver of the minibus fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle.
