Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport management confirmed that the airport is secure after a recent bomb threat was determined to be a hoax following a thorough investigation and search.
“Following our investigation and follow-up actions, we conclude that the information we received is incorrect,” Head of Communications and Legal Affairs of the airport operator, Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, stated on Tuesday.
According to Asmadi, the bomb threat was received on Sunday (August 2) at 9:58 p.m. local time, and airport security personnel promptly responded in accordance with established safety procedures.
Following a thorough investigation and a comprehensive search of the airport premises, security officers concluded that the bomb threat was a hoax. Since then, all flights and airport service operations at Bali’s airport have continued safely, he affirmed.
“All flights and airport operations are running normally, smoothly, and under control,” Asmadi stressed.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport management urged residents and travellers to remain calm, refrain from sharing unverified information about airport safety, and avoid making jokes or spreading false information about bombs at the airport.
As airports are designated as vital national objects under Indonesian law, their security is enforced in strict accordance with the applicable regulations.
“We also remind travellers and the public not to make jokes or spread false information, as they may face criminal charges under Indonesian law,” he remarked.
