Jakarta (ANTARA) – Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani said the presence of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) would strengthen the country’s bargaining position in global trade.
He added that DSI was established to increase state revenues, strengthen the management of export proceeds (DHE), and prevent underinvoicing, improper transfer pricing practices, and other illicit practices.
“We are witnessing how the government has adopted a single-gate export governance policy through DSI,” Muzani said in his opening speech at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) at the parliament complex, Jakarta, on Friday.
Muzani said Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution explicitly mandates that land, water, and the natural resources contained within them shall be controlled by the state and utilized for the prosperity of the people.
He said the constitutional mandate was subsequently elaborated strategically through MPR Decree No. IX/MPR/2001 on Agrarian Reform and Natural Resource Management.
Moreover, Muzani said Indonesia’s management of natural resources must be based on the principles of fairness, sustainability, and ecological preservation.
DSI is a new state-owned enterprise (SOE) under the sovereign wealth fund Danantara that was established on May 18, 2026, to implement the one-stop export policy.
On Friday, the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), the House of Representatives (DPR RI), and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) held the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI.
The agenda included President Prabowo Subianto’s speech on the performance of state institutions and his State of the Nation Address marking Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day.
The annual session was a state event held to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence, under the theme “Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”
