Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) deployed 10,121 joint personnel to secure the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup final between Indonesia and Thailand at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Central Jakarta on Monday.
Head of the Operations Bureau of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Brigadier General La Ode Aries El Fathar, led the Tactical Floor Game (TFG) at Balai Sarbini, South Jakarta, on Monday, to finalise personnel placement, supporter mobility, traffic engineering, and contingency scenarios.
“The TFG aims to ensure all elements understand personnel deployment and field implementation procedures. Its results must also be communicated to supervise officers and relevant personnel to ensure coordinated and focused implementation,” he explained.
The series of matches at GBK Stadium begins with the third-place match between Malaysia and Vietnam at 4:00 p.m., followed by the final between Indonesia and Thailand at 8:00 p.m.
According to Fathar, joint officers were stationed at several vital points, including travel routes, entrances, the grandstand area, the GBK stadium area, fan gathering areas, and the roads around Senayan.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, urged supporters of both teams and the wider public to maintain order during the series of events.
“Support both teams in an orderly and sportsmanlike manner, follow the officers’ instructions and inspections, and refrain from carrying prohibited items,” Hermanto pointed out.
He informed the traffic flow around the GBK Stadium area will be regulated situationally and adjusted to conditions on the ground. Passengers are advised to anticipate potential congestion by adjusting their travel times and routes.
The Indonesian national team head coach John Herdman said his squad is determined to put in a strong performance against Thailand in the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup final. Herdman added the match will be his squad’s golden opportunity to win a trophy.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup final takes place approximately two months after Herdman failed to bring his team to the semifinals of the 2026 AFF Cup.
Regarding the final, the English coach is also confident that his team can secure victory, with the GBK Stadium expected to be packed after all 67,000 tickets were sold out.
