Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) – Haze from forest and land fires has forced the cancellation of two flights to and from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, its operator, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney), said.
Yudistiawan, assistant deputy for communications and legal affairs at the Soekarno-Hatta Executive Office, said here Saturday that the cancellations were necessary to ensure air traffic safety.
Smoke from the fires had reduced visibility at several destination airports to below minimum operating levels, he said.
“We are monitoring flight operations and coordinating with airlines and other stakeholders to ensure affected flights and passengers are handled properly,” he said.
The airport operator has prepared mitigation measures at each terminal to prevent passenger congestion caused by flight delays and cancellations.
The measures aim to maintain smooth passenger flows and ensure service standards remain high, he said.
“We are also ensuring mitigation measures remain in place at the terminals to maintain service quality. Operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport remain under control,” he said.
Yudistiawan urged passengers to check the latest flight status and schedules through their airlines’ official channels before leaving for the airport.
Passengers seeking additional information about services at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport can contact InJourney Airports’ call center at 172, he said.
