Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto has introduced a free education policy for all students at Taruna Nusantara Senior High School as part of efforts to expand access to quality education.

The policy coincides with the development of five new campuses across Indonesia during the first two years of his administration.

According to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Friday, the tuition-free policy allows all Taruna Nusantara students to pursue their studies without paying school fees.

The policy is part of the government’s efforts to provide greater opportunities for young Indonesians to access quality education.

In addition to eliminating tuition fees, the government is accelerating the expansion of Taruna Nusantara Senior High School through the construction of new campuses. Prabowo noted that the educational institution had undergone significant development since it was first established in 1990.

When it was initially founded, Taruna Nusantara had only one campus. However, the institution has since produced numerous young leaders who have contributed to the country.

During the first two years of Prabowo’s administration, the expansion of Taruna Nusantara has been accelerated through the construction of five new campuses in various regions across Indonesia.

The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to ensure more equitable access to education while improving the quality of the country’s human resources.

The inauguration of Taruna Nusantara Senior High School’s Cimahi Campus in Cimahi, West Java, on Friday marked another milestone in the expansion program. Several months earlier, Prabowo had also inaugurated the school’s campus in Malang, East Java.

With the expansion, the Taruna Nusantara school network now spans six locations: Magelang in Central Java, Malang in East Java, Cimahi in West Java, Pagar Alam in South Sumatra, the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), and Langowan in North Sulawesi.

The campus expansion and tuition-free policy are expected to strengthen Taruna Nusantara’s role in nurturing a generation of young Indonesians who excel academically, uphold integrity, and demonstrate a strong sense of patriotism.

Through these policies, the government is positioning human resource development as a key foundation for national progress.
