Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has called for a prudent and comprehensive approach to improving education quality, saying it is essential to laying a stronger foundation for national development.

“The key to successful nation-building efforts lies in education,” he said during the inauguration of a new campus of Taruna Nusantara High School in Cimahi, West Java, on Friday, according to a statement received in Jakarta.

Prabowo emphasized the importance of ensuring access to quality education at every stage of citizen life, from prenatal education for parents and early childhood learning to kindergarten, primary, secondary, and higher education.

He acknowledged that building a high-quality education system would require the country to protect and manage its resources responsibly.

In this regard, the president stressed the need to step up efforts to improve education while safeguarding the country’s natural resources against corruption, misappropriation, and abuse of authority, warning that such practices could ultimately undermine Indonesia’s development.

“We need a good education system, which will require us to garner significant investment; we need substantial funds. For that reason, national resources must be secured and safeguarded. Our resources must not be stolen, misappropriated, or corrupted,” Prabowo said.

The president also noted that Taruna Nusantara High School was established in recognition of the need to nurture future leaders with outstanding qualities. He added that intelligence must be accompanied by integrity and strong moral character so that individuals can use their abilities for the benefit of the nation and society.

Prabowo further said that all Indonesians should have adequate access to quality education, regardless of their economic, ethnic, or religious backgrounds.

He expressed confidence that graduates of Taruna Nusantara High School would make significant contributions to national development.
