Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) – The Bali Regional Directorate General of Immigration inspected 66 foreign nationals from 27 countries during a week-long operation targeting suspected immigration violations and threats to public security and order.
The Head of the Bali Immigration Office, Felucia Sengky Ratna, on Tuesday noted that these foreign nationals were identified during the “Dharma Dewata” patrol across several areas in Bali.
Of the 66 foreign nationals inspected, 24 were suspected of misusing their residence permits and 20 had overstayed their visas, while the remaining 22 were apprehended in connection with disturbances to security and public order.
“Digital-based surveillance has proven effective in detecting potential violations more quickly and accurately,” Ratna said.
The operation was conducted within the jurisdictions of immigration offices covering areas such as Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Singaraja, Tabanan, and Klungkung.
According to her, officers utilized an integrated digital data system to validate documents and detect suspected violations by foreign nationals.
In addition, officers visited business owners and accommodation managers to disseminate information on the mandatory report of foreigners’ presence via the Foreigner Reporting Application (APOA).
Ratna informed that the 66 foreign nationals are currently undergoing further examination to determine the appropriate course of action based on the specific nature of their violations.
Administrative measures, such as deportation, may be taken if the investigation establishes that the violations fall within the scope of offenses regulated under the applicable laws, she continued.
“For every operation, I emphasize that all personnel must work professionally, avoid abuse of authority, and conduct surveillance in a humane yet firm and measured manner, strictly adhering to legal frameworks,” she pointed out.
In addition, Ratna urged the public to report any indications of violations by foreign nationals through the official channels of the immigration offices in their respective areas, including through the Ngurah Rai Immigration Instagram account (@imngurahrai) and WhatsApp number 081236956667.
Other channels are reachable through Denpasar Immigration at @imigrasidenpasar and WhatsApp number 081246183838, as well as Singaraja Immigration via @singaraja_imigrasi and WhatsApp number 0811389809.
The operational area for Ngurah Rai Immigration covers the Kuta, North Kuta, and South Kuta Sub-districts, while Denpasar Immigration covers parts of Badung District, as well as Gianyar and Bangli.
Meanwhile, Singaraja Immigration oversees Buleleng, Jembrana, and Karangasem Districts; additionally, new offices are serving Tabanan and Klungkung.
