Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (ANTARA) – Bangka Belitung Islands Province added 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases taking the number of patients undergoing self isolation to 64 as of Sunday afternoon.
“Today (we recorded) an addition of 10 cases comprising 4 cases in Pangkalpinang, 4 cases in Bangka and 2 cases in Belitung,” Secretary of the Bangka Belitung COVID-19 Handling Task Force Mikron Antariksa said here on Sunday.
The 64 active COVID-19 patients who are undergoing self isolation consist of 24 in Pangkalpinang ,22 in Bangka, 7 in West Bangka, 7 in Belitung, 3 in Central Bangka and 1 in South Bangka.

The task force also noted that nine patients recovered from the disease and one patient succumbed to the virus on Sunday.
He said four out of districts and cities in Bangka Belitung Islands did not record an addition of daily COVID-19 cases on Sunday. They are West Bangka, Central Bangka, South Bangka, and East Bangka.
“Ignorance of health protocols will hinder our joint efforts and does not align with the government’s policy to make this province free from COVID-19,” he said.
He called on the people who have not received the third or booster vaccine dose to visit vaccination center without delay to increase their antibody against the coronavirus.

Nationally, the number of daily COVID-19 cases increased 3,616 on Friday (Sept 2), bringing the total number of confirmed positive cases since March 2020 to 6,366,518 people.
According to the National COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Jakarta recorded the highest addition of daily confirmed cases in Indonesia, reaching 1,500 people, as of Friday at 12:00 local time.
Data showed that the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases was recorded in West Java with 699 cases; East Java, 392 cases; Banten, 381 cases; and Central Java, 173 cases.
