Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s National Zakat Agency (Baznas) is strengthening its humanitarian cooperation with Jordan’s King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) to enhance the provision of medical services for Palestinians.
In a statement received here in Jakarta on Sunday, Idy Muzayyad, Baznas Head of Distribution, Utilization, and Empowerment, described Jordan’s KHCF as a reliable partner, citing its transparent implementation and reporting of aid for Palestinians.
“We will maintain this good relationship and elevate it,” Muzayyad said.

The stronger collaboration, he noted, is marked by Baznas’ commitment to channel over Rp1.7 billion (around US$95,500) in humanitarian aid for Palestinian healthcare services.
Muzayyad affirmed that, in addition to medical assistance, his agency is preparing a long-term aid initiative offering higher education scholarships for Palestinian students in Indonesia, focusing primarily on healthcare.
“We also have a new distribution model offering scholarships for Palestinian students to study in Indonesia. This is a long-term, sustainable programme in the healthcare field,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s Ambassador to Indonesia Sudqi Al Omoush commended Baznas’ support and encouraged further cooperation through sustainable waqf programmes to aid Palestinian refugees and other conflict-affected regions.
He expressed regret over the massive global funds currently spent on armed conflict, expressing hope that these resources will instead be redirected toward life-supporting humanitarian initiatives.
Meanwhile, KHCF Director Madelin Al-Salah appreciated Baznas’ ongoing support, including a recent allocation of over Rp3.5 billion to fund cancer treatment for patients from Gaza in Jordan in 2026.
Madelin noted that strengthening this humanitarian cooperation is critical to meet the medical and logistical needs of those accompanying patients, especially amid a decline in international donations caused by conflicts in the Gulf region.
