BPIP stresses character building in Paskibraka education

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) has stressed the importance of character building in the Flag Hoisting Troops (Paskibraka) education for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day.

Deputy Head of BPIP Rima Agristina said Paskibraka strengthening is carried out every year through two activities, namely active learning and training.

“Every year, there are two types of activities carried out to strengthen Paskibraka, which are active learning and training,” Agristina said while reviewing joint Paskibraka training here on Saturday.

She explained that before entering the training stage, Paskibraka candidates undergo experience-based active learning.

The learning material covers national history, Indonesian identity, Pancasila, national insight, state defense, national resilience, and national vigilance.

After completing the learning stage, participants undergo an outdoor reflection activity before moving on to the training stage.

Agristina said character building is strengthened through gradual training. Participants do stretching and exercise every morning, with the training load steadily increased.

“Every day you get tougher, of course, because the process we carry out is done gradually,” she said.

She added that the presence of Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) personnel in the joint training also boosted the spirit of Paskibraka candidates. The training also involved a music unit and all ceremony participants.

BPIP Deputy for Assessment and Materials Surahno said character building through Pancasila values is an important part of preparing Paskibraka candidates.

He explained that from the start, participants are given not only Paskibraka skills but also an understanding of Pancasila values.

“These Pancasila values are meant to prepare them to become future cadres and leaders of the nation,” he said.

Paskibraka education aims not only to produce participants with technical skills in carrying out ceremonies, but also the ability to put Pancasila values into practice in daily life, he added.

Currently, candidates for the 81st Independence Day Paskibraka are undergoing joint training from August 6 to 9 as part of preparations for the Independence Day ceremony.

After the joint training, participants are scheduled to move to Jakarta on August 11 to take part in a series of rehearsals before the ceremony on August 17.
