Bantul, Yogyakarta (ANTARA) – The Industry Ministry held a supervision coordination meeting on Thursday as part of its commitment to pursuing the target of domestic procurement of goods and services by the government.
“The theme of this supervision coordination meeting is ‘Synergy to Control Domestic Products to Create Independent Industries.’ We chose this theme to emphasize the Inspectorate General’s commitment to always oversee the target of using domestic products in the procurement of government goods or services,” inspector general of the Industry Ministry, Masrokhan, informed in Yogyakarta on Thursday.
He said that the meeting was conducted to synchronize programs or supervisory activities and improve collaboration between the Inspectorate General and all of the ministry’s work units as well as relevant stakeholders.
In order to monitor the targets, in 2023, the Inspectorate General will focus on monitoring the Increase in the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) within the ministry, he added.
“As a strategic step so that P3DN supervision can run effectively and efficiently, a joint audit is being carried out by the Inspectorate General and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), as outlined in the memorandum of understanding (MoU),” he added.
The joint audit is expected to reflect actual conditions as well as provide comprehensiverecommendations in order to improve governance and strategies needed to pursue the targets within the ministry, he noted.

Masrokhan further said that the success and effectiveness of internal control would not be possible without collaborative efforts by the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) and all work units within the ministry.
Thus, his party is grateful that at the 2021 meeting, a memorandum of understanding was inked between APIP and all Echelon I Units, as stated in the “Bali Commitment.”
“As a follow-up to the Bali Commitment, we expect that all leaders of Echelon I Units, leaders of work units, and all employees, once again, declare a joint commitment to increase the use of domestic products and implement a risk management culture,” he said.
In general, internal supervision within the ministry in 2023 would focus on five strategic areas, ranging fromthe supervision of any increase in domestic product adoption, monitoring of performance and high-risk activities, monitoring and evaluation of industrial sector policies, consulting on risk management implementation, and following up on the results of internal and external supervision, he informed.
Masrokhan also said that internal supervision, particularly pertaining to monitoring, would run effectively and could provide added value, if it is supported by the active participation of everyone, which could be achieved through good governance, risk management, and adequate internal control in the discharge of duties and functions within the respective units.
