Deputy minister urges digital transformation in education sector

Bungo, Jambi (ANTARA) – Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Fajar Riza Ul Haq has urged digital transformation in the education sector to strengthen learning innovation in schools.

Haq made the statement while attending and launching the “Bungo Pintar” application at the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) office in Bungo District, Jambi Province, on Friday.

“This digital innovation is very fitting and in line with what we are pursuing at the Ministry, namely strengthening digital-based learning innovation,” Haq said.

He said that by the end of 2024, the Ministry had recorded more than a thousand applications registered across the ministry. Following the education minister’s directive, all of those applications were then integrated into a single super app called Rumah Pendidikan.

“Rumah Pendidikan is a super app that combines hundreds of applications that have been produced and used at the Ministry of Education. We encourage regional applications, such as Bungo Pintar, to be integrated with or support the Rumah Pendidikan ecosystem,” he said.

On the occasion, he invited teachers and education stakeholders to download and use Rumah Pendidikan as their main digital learning resource.

He also noted the national achievement of the Rumah Pendidikan application, launched by the ministry in 2024, which won first place at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Switzerland.

The award was given by a special United Nations body, as the application was judged to have outperformed entries from 122 countries and more than 1,500 applications in the competition.

He said the international recognition proves that Indonesia’s education digital transformation is progressing well and can serve as a model for the world.

Regarding the launch of the Bungo Pintar application, Deputy Governor of Jambi Abdullah Sani said the digital innovation is not merely about keeping up with the times, but reflects a real commitment to cutting bureaucracy and opening up transparent access to education information.

“The presence of Bungo Pintar opens the door wide for education transparency, easier access to information, and faster improvement in the quality of human resources in Bungo District,” he said.
