Jakarta (ANTARA) – The House of Representatives (DPR) and the government have agreed to resolve drawn-out agrarian conflicts, including restoring land rights and addressing land ownership inequality, through the Agrarian Reform Regulation Bill.
The DPR and the government have formulated a number of resolution mechanisms in the bill, which were then brought to a decision-making meeting led by Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the parliamentary complex on Monday.
Ahmad Iman Sukri, Chairman of the Working Committee (Panja) for the Agrarian Reform Regulation Bill, explained that the government submitted a List of Problem Inventory (DIM) containing 596 items for joint discussion with the House.
He said the DIM discussion process was carried out intensively while remaining open to input from various segments of society.
“The government shares the same view as the DPR, namely genuine concern and serious attention toward resolving agrarian conflicts through accelerated agrarian reform,” Sukri said.
He said the results of the DIM discussions were formulated into 14 chapters and 53 articles, covering the resolution of agrarian conflicts, the restoration of land rights, land redistribution, limits on land control and ownership, and the strengthening of agrarian reform institutions.
After each political party faction presented its views, Deputy Speaker Ahmad, who chaired the meeting, then asked all factions and members present for their approval.
All participants agreed to advance the Agrarian Reform Regulation Bill to the level II deliberation stage.
According to the schedule, the DPR will hold its 6th plenary session of the 1st sitting period of the 2026-2027 sitting year on Tuesday (September 22).
The plenary session’s agenda includes the Level II Deliberation/Decision-Making on the Agrarian Reform Regulation Bill.
