Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Culture Ministry supports the expansion of the “Taman Mini Indonesia” in Poland by adding traditional house complexes from other provinces, a move aimed at promoting Indonesian culture on the global stage.
“We deeply appreciate the steps taken by Mr. Wawrowski, both as an individual who loves Indonesian culture and as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Poland,” said Minister of Culture Fadli Zon in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
“We remain highly impressed by Mr. Wawrowski’s boldness in preserving and promoting Indonesian culture; the initiative will undoubtedly be well-received by the Polish public,” he said.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Mirosław Wawrowski, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Gdańsk, Poland.
Fadli Zon commended Mirosław Wawrowski for his efforts in preserving Indonesian culture. Wawrowski serves as an example for Indonesians to cherish Nusantara’s culture as a core part of the nation’s identity.
Regarding the expansion of the Taman Mini Indonesia in Poland, the Minister proposed adding traditional house complexes from other provinces, with the construction of the new facilities carried out under the guidance of Indonesian cultural experts.
Furthermore, as part of Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy, Fadli Zon encouraged using the site as a platform to promote the cultures of both Indonesia and Poland, for instance, by screening short films during cultural festivals.
Mirosław Wawrowski, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Gdańsk, explained that his team has been collaborating with relevant stakeholders to continuously promote Indonesian culture in Poland.
“Next year, we also plan to organize a major festival attended by young people from across Europe and Scandinavia,” he said.
This meeting is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Poland through cultural ties.
Through close collaboration between the two nations, the “Bali Indah Cultural Park”—or the Taman Mini Indonesia in Słupsk, Poland—can showcase the cultural richness of the Indonesian archipelago while reinforcing Indonesia’s standing on the international stage.
