Indonesia, Cambodia Air Forces establish military cooperation

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) is strengthening its relationship with the Cambodian Air Force (CAF) by agreeing on several points of military cooperation.

According to an official TNI AU press release received in Jakarta on Monday, the agreement was made during the 4th TNI AU–CAF Air Working Group (AWG) 2026, held in Jakarta from July 28 to 31, 2026.

During the event, TNI AU representatives, namely the Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Marshal Suliono, and the Deputy Chief of Staff of the CAF, Major General Chhim Soch, as Co-Chairman, agreed to several cooperation agreements.

An agreed outcome includes military education cooperation, with the CAF each receiving one place for officers to attend the Indonesian Air Force Command School (Sekkau) and Staff and Command School (Seskoau) in Indonesia in 2028, Air Force spokesperson First Marshal I Nyoman Suadnyana said.

Suadnyana stated that the collaboration is a strategic step for the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) in improving the quality of human resources (HR) in the defense sector.

In addition, TNI AU officers will also have the opportunity to undergo military education in Cambodia.

Suadnyana explained that several other points of cooperation in the field of improving human resource quality have also been agreed upon by both parties.

He hopes that with this collaboration, the quality of human resources in the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) and the CAF will continue to improve, and the bilateral relationship between the two countries will also strengthen.
