Jakarta (ANTARA) – Manpower Minister Yassierli said the National Vocational Training program is a government initiative aimed at accelerating workforce skills development and helping workers adapt more to changing industry demands.
“We want to expand public access to relevant vocational skills,” the minister said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Registration for the fifth batch of the National Vocational Training is open online via the Skillhub platform until September 16, 2026.
Yassierli noted that rapid changes in the industrial landscape require workers to continually update and upgrade their skills.
Therefore, he emphasized that upskilling and reskilling are essential to boost the national workforce’s competitiveness and meet labor market demands.
“All programs are competency-based, ensuring that participants master not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills ready for the workplace,” he stated.
The minister explained that the fifth phase of the National Vocational Training program prioritizes job seekers, laid-off workers, and aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly among high school and vocational high school graduates.
“Through this program, participants are expected to strengthen their competitiveness in entering the job market or gain the necessary skills to start their own businesses,” he said.
Registration and completion of the Siap Latih assessment remain open until September 16, 2026. Candidates who pass the initial selection must participate in interviews from September 17 to 23, 2026.
Selected participants for the fifth phase rollout will be announced on September 24, 2026.
The National Vocational Training program is part of the Indonesian government’s efforts to enhance the quality of human resources while addressing the gap between workforce competencies and industrial needs.
For this year’s implementation, the program targets around 340,000 participants. A total of 70,000 participants are funded through the existing state budget allocated last year, while the remaining 270,000 are supported by the second-semester economic stimulus package for 2026.
