Indonesia opens registration for ‘SMK Go Global’ until August 16

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) has opened registration for the Vocational High School (SMK) Go Global Training Program for 40,000 participants, running from Wednesday (August 12) to Sunday (August 16).

“The SMK Go Global program is part of the government’s efforts to prepare young Indonesian talent with the competencies, skills, and readiness demanded by the global job market,” Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Mukhtarudin stated in an official release on Tuesday.

He noted that the program is tailored to labor market demands, focusing on several priority sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, transportation, construction, agriculture, maritime affairs, and foreign languages.

Participants will receive technical skills training while also being equipped with language proficiency, cultural understanding, work discipline, and knowledge of their rights and obligations as migrant workers.

This holistic approach aims to help them adapt smoothly to the work environments and social lives of their destination country.

Prospective participants can access detailed information regarding requirements, training types, schedules, registration mechanisms, and program guidelines through official KP2MI channels and the 23 Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Centers (BP3MI) nationwide, including the ministry’s official Instagram account, @kemenp2mi.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and submit copies of their Family Card (KK), National Identity Card (KTP), National Health Insurance (JKN) card, and a health certificate from a local health facility.

Furthermore, applicants must provide a declaration of commitment to participate in the prospective Indonesian migrant worker capacity-building program, a statement of interest in working abroad, a consent letter from a parent, guardian, or spouse, and a copy of their latest educational diploma.

Applicants may also upload optional documents proving their technical skills, language proficiency, or relevant work experience.

Additionally, participants are expected to hold a job seeker registration certificate (AK-1) from their local manpower office.
