Batam (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) trains 100 digital talents in Batam, Riau Islands, to develop secure and reliable artificial intelligence (AI)-powered applications and strengthen their technical skills.
Director of Applications at the ministry, Tri Wahyudi, said the training is part of the 2026 Creative Hub for App Talent (CHAT) program, which aims to equip participants with an understanding of security by design, an approach that integrates security considerations from the earliest stages of product development.
“AI advancements offer local developers significant opportunities to create digital solutions much more efficiently. However, the pace of innovation must go hand in hand with data protection and system security,” Tri said in Batam on Monday.
The program was held in the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) Signal Detection Center in Batam.
According to Tri, through the 2026 CHAT program, the ministry is committed to developing digital talent in Batam that should adapt to global technology trends, meet strong cybersecurity standards, and enable their products to compete in the industry.
CHAT 2026 focuses on two main pillars: Build and Secure. The Build pillar encourages participants to create innovative, practical applications that address real-world needs.
The Secure pillar, meanwhile, equips participants with the skills to mitigate information security risks and improve system reliability to protect user data from various cyber threats.
“During the workshop, participants are learning about vibe coding and AI-assisted development to accelerate application development without compromising product quality. The training also covers several technical configurations,” Tri said.
The training covers technical configuration, AI-based solution architecture, product catalog integration, dashboard development, and application vulnerability testing.
The program is also expected to provide a networking platform for application developers, university students, technology communities, and industry practitioners.
“Participants’ best applications, at the end of the program, will be shortlisted for recognition based on their innovation, system reliability, and development potential,” Tri said.
The ministry hopes the CHAT 2026 will promote more balanced growth of the digital creative economy ecosystem across Indonesia and produce high-quality, secure, and competitive locally developed applications.
