Indonesia wins 15 medals, finishes fourth at GAMMA Asian Championships

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia won 15 medals and finished fourth overall at the 2026 GAMMA Asian Championships in Putrajaya, Malaysia, strengthening its preparations for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

The Indonesian amateur mixed martial arts team collected five gold, five silver, and five bronze medals across the junior, under-21, and senior divisions during the championships, held from July 29 to Aug. 2.

“More than the number of medals, we saw courage, discipline, and strong competitiveness from our athletes as they competed against the best opponents from different countries,” Chair of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Mixed Martial Arts Association (PB PERTACAMI) Tommy Paulus Hermawan said in a statement on Tuesday.

Indonesia’s five gold medals were won by Dominic Gabriel Vincentio, Mutiara Pricilia Rori, Delvi Nurfadillah, Yusni Nurhayati Hutasoit, and Jon Setiawan.

The five silver medals were secured by Lukas Oliver Lubis Sedlak, Bumi Magani Abraar Himara, Rangga Dika Mahendra, Novia Pesik, and Maydelse Sitepu.

The five bronze medals were earned by Manayra Maritza Hersianti Siagian, Vannezcia Steven Cuthberth, Yosua Pratama Purba, Panca Julian Saputra, and Dwi Ani Retno Wulan.

Indonesia won one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal in the junior division. The under-21 and senior divisions contributed four gold, three silver, and four bronze medals.

The results of the 2026 GAMMA Asian Championships will provide valuable preparation for PB PERTACAMI ahead of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
