Nagoya (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s national boccia team captured the country’s 15th gold medal at the 2026 Asian Para Games after defeating Thailand 11-3 in the mixed BC1/BC2 final at Nagoya City General Gymnasium on Saturday.
The trio of Felix Ardi Yuda, Gischa Zayana, and Muhammad Syafa overcame an early one-point deficit to dominant the match, scoring 11 unanswered points across four consecutive ends before sealing the victory over Thailand’s Pirayat Chanyadi, Worawut Sangampa, and Phakphum Linchum.
The victory marks Indonesia’s fourth gold medal in boccia at the Games, far exceeding the discipline’s initial target of a single gold title.
Earlier individual golds in boccia were secured by Handayani in the women’s BC1, Gischa Zayana in the women’s BC2, and Felix Ardi Yuda in the men’s BC2 event.
The win further extends Indonesia’s overall performance at the Games, where the contingent has more than doubled its initial overall target of seven gold medals.
