Indonesian Navy to receive 105 US amphibious combat vehicles by 2028

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) is set to receive a total of 105 AAV-M35 amphibious combat vehicles from the United States over a three-year delivery schedule to enhance the operational capabilities of the Marine Corps.

Navy Chief of Staff (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali stated that the procurement, managed by the Defense Ministry, will be delivered in three equal installments of 35 units each.

“In total, there are 105, but they are being delivered in stages,” Admiral Ali said during a press conference at the Marine Corps Headquarters in Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Monday.

The US manufacturer has already delivered 12 units from the initial batch of 35 vehicles, with the remaining 23 units scheduled to arrive in Indonesia by late November 2026.

Deliveries for the second and third batches of 35 vehicles are scheduled for 2027 and 2028, respectively.

Once delivered, the 105 amphibious combat vehicles will be deployed to reinforce three Marine Force commands across the country: Marine Force I (Pasmar I) in Jakarta, Marine Force II (Pasmar II) in Surabaya and Marine Force III (Pasmar III) in Sorong, Southwest Papua.

Regarding the financial value of the defense procurement, Admiral Ali refrained from disclosing specific figures and directing inquiries to the Defense Ministry.

“For the budget, ask the Defense Ministry,” Ali remarked.
