Depok, W Java (ANTARA) – The Indonesian immigration authorities in Depok City, West Java, have identified 13 foreign nationals suspected of violating immigration regulations during a joint operation involving law enforcement agencies and local government institutions.
Depok Immigration Office Chief Irvan Triansyah said on Friday that monitoring the presence and activities of foreign nationals was essential to maintaining public order and ensuring compliance with immigration laws.
Officers found nine foreign nationals at Margonda Residence 1 and 2 apartments and four others at Saladdin Mansion apartment, all suspected of immigration violations.
The suspected violations included misuse of residence permits, fictitious investor status, failure to report changes of address, inability to produce travel documents, and overstaying visas.

The joint operation involved the Depok City National Narcotics Agency, Depok Metropolitan Police, Depok Military District Command 0508, municipal public order officers, the city’s National and Political Unity Agency, and Sukmajaya Police.
Irvan said the operation reflected the immigration office’s commitment to strengthening coordination with law enforcement agencies and local government institutions.
“We expect collaboration and monitoring of foreign nationals within the Depok Immigration Office’s jurisdiction to become more effective,” he said.
The 13 foreign nationals were taken to the Depok Immigration Office for further questioning, data collection, interviews, administrative checks, and physical searches as part of the investigation into the suspected violations.
Irvan pledged to maintain systematic and sustained immigration monitoring and strengthen cooperation with relevant stakeholders to uphold public order and enforce immigration laws in Depok.
“This operation demonstrates interagency cooperation to strengthen oversight of foreign nationals’ presence and activities in Depok,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shalahuddin Al Ayubi, head of the Depok Immigration Office’s Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section, said officers had been divided into four teams to inspect the two locations.
He stressed that the entire operation had to be conducted professionally and humanely, in accordance with applicable regulations.
