Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) –
Minister of Population and Family Development Wihaji announced the figure while inspecting a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) implementing the MBG 3B program in Pangkalbalam, Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands, on Thursday.
“As of today, the MBG 3B program has reached 9.6 million beneficiaries,” he said.
Wihaji said 33,852 MBG 3B beneficiaries are located across Bangka Belitung Islands Province, including Pangkalpinang City and the districts of Bangka, Central Bangka, West Bangka, South Bangka, Belitung, and East Belitung.
He said the inspection was conducted to ensure service standards at the Pangkalbalam SPPG, which currently provides MBG 3B meals to 498 beneficiaries.
According to Wihaji, the visit followed President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to ensure the quality, nutritional value, hygiene, food safety, and timely distribution of meals provided to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under five.
“I am inspecting this MBG 3B service unit because President Prabowo Subianto has instructed us not to spend too much time on discussions or workshops. We must go directly to the field, and any problems must be resolved immediately,” he said.
Bangka Belitung Islands Governor Hidayat Arsani said improving nutrition for mothers and children is a vital investment in developing healthy and high-quality human resources.
He emphasized that the MBG 3B program should ensure not only that meals reach intended beneficiaries but also that food quality, nutritional content, hygiene, food safety, and timely distribution are maintained.
“The most important thing is ensuring that the meals truly meet the nutritional needs of mothers and children. We want this program to deliver tangible benefits that are directly felt by the people of Bangka Belitung,” he said.
