Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has approved the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) request to question former senior prosecutor Febrie Adriansyah, a corruption and money laundering suspect being held at the KPK detention center, officials said on Friday.

“It is correct that the KPK has received a request from investigators at the Attorney General’s Office to question FA (Febrie Adriansyah),” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said in Jakarta.

Prasetyo said the AGO submitted the request on Friday to question Febrie as a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering case.

“The questioning of FA is scheduled for this afternoon,” he said.

An AGO prisoner transport vehicle was seen parked outside the KPK’s Merah Putih detention center in Jakarta from 11:32 a.m. local time on Friday.

Earlier, AGO Legal Information Center head Anang Supriatna confirmed that investigators had scheduled Febrie’s questioning.

“Mr. FA is scheduled to be questioned today by Team 9 investigators as a suspect,” Supriatna told ANTARA in Jakarta.

Febrie had previously been named a suspect by Indonesia’s National Police in an alleged corruption case linked to the handling of a corruption investigation involving state insurer PT Asabri.

In a separate alleged money laundering case, AGO Team 9 investigators named Febrie Adriansyah and private-sector figure Nurman Herin as suspects.

Since being named a suspect, Febrie has been held at the KPK’s Merah Putih detention center.
