Legislature passes 13 bills, gathers 10,883 aspirations: Prabowo

Jakarta (ANTARA) –

President Prabowo Subianto highlighted several legislative achievements, including the House of Representatives (DPR) and the government’s passage and enactment of 13 bills (RUU), as well as the Regional Representative Council’s (DPD) collection of 10,883 public aspirations from 38 provinces.

He conveyed this during his state address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the DPD and DPR at the MPR/DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday.

“The DPR and the government have completed and enacted 13 draft laws by July 2026,” Prabowo said.

According to him, building the nation requires the collective efforts of the president, state institutions, central and regional governments, and all Indonesians.

He also noted that the MPR continues to fulfill its role as the House of the Nation by strengthening constitutional literacy and upholding Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity).

“Democracy must not stop at election procedures. Democracy must fulfill the people’s basic rights and uphold all articles of our Constitution,” Prabowo pointed out.

He went on to highlight that the DPR and the government had completed and enacted 13 bills as of July 2026.

One of these legislative products is Law Number 2 of 2026 concerning the Protection of Domestic Workers, which upholds the dignity of all forms of work and guarantees workers’ right to protection.

The head of state also highlighted the performance of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), which has collected 10,883 aspirations from 38 provinces.

These aspirations were then brought into dialogue with the Ministry of National Development Planning as input for the preparation of the 2027 Government Work Plan (RKP).

“The DPD has also continued to push for the Draft Law on Archipelagic Regions, which has now entered tripartite discussions with the DPR and the government. God willing, it will be completed,” the president remarked.

This Friday, the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), House of Representatives (DPR RI), and Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) hold the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI.

The agenda includes President Prabowo Subianto’s speech on the performance of state institutions and his State of the Nation Address marking Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day. The government will also present a video showcasing its achievements.

The annual session is a state event held to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence, under the theme “Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”
