Ministry confirms no test for part-time PPPK teacher transition

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Primary and Secondary Education Ministry has confirmed that the transition of part-time Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) teachers to full-time status will not involve any test or reselection process.

The ministry’s Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel Nunuk Suryani explained the transition mechanism for part-time PPPK teachers moving to full-time status in a video posted on her personal Instagram, @nunuksuryani, here on Tuesday.

“Over the past few days, I have received questions via WhatsApp and comments on my Instagram posts, asking whether it is true that the transition from part-time to full-time PPPK status involves a test. Now I will answer that for everyone,” Suryani said.

Referring to an agreement with the House of Representatives (DPR) reached previously, Suryani said there would be no test required to change part-time PPPK teachers’ status to full-time.

“So there is no change in the policy as announced by the government together with the House of Representatives on August 18, 2026. The change or transition of status from part-time to full-time PPPK is a status transition, not something done through a test,” she stressed.

Suryani further explained that the main reason behind the no-test policy is that all part-time PPPK teachers had already gone through the official selection process the previous year.

“Why is no test needed? Because all part-time PPPK teachers have already gone through the entire testing process to become PPPK the previous year. So these teachers only need a status transition to become full-time PPPK,” Suryani added.

Regarding when the status transition will begin, she said in the same video that the transition is planned to take effect in January 2027, and asked part-time PPPK teachers to prepare themselves accordingly.

“Please, all part-time PPPK teachers, prepare yourselves as best as you can. I hope all of you receive benefits from this government policy,” Suryani noted.
