Ministry launches SNT orientation for 1,360 first cohort students

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education reported that 1,360 students in the first cohort of the National Integrated School (SNT) program, spread across 17 locations, are ready to begin the Friendly School Orientation Period (MPLS) on Monday.

Director General of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Non-Formal and Informal Education Gogot Suharwoto said the 1,360 students consist of 680 junior high school students and 680 senior high school students.

“We have gone through the selection process, or new student admission system (SPMB). From 2,068 applicants, 1,360 students passed selection, comprising 680 junior high school students and 680 senior high school students,” Suharwoto said on Monday.

He spoke at the opening of the first cohort SNT orientation period in Bogor Regency, West Java.

He explained that the ministry previously received location proposals for SNT from 114 districts and cities. Following verification, validation, and field visits, the ministry decided alongside related ministries and agencies to construct 37 SNT locations this year.

He added that of those 37 locations, 17 SNT schools have begun operating in the 2026/2027 academic year, including SNT 7 Parung in Bogor District, West Java.

Regarding staff readiness, he said the ministry selected and prepared 17 principals from 1,800 applicants.

For teachers and learning assistants serving at the SNT, the ministry recruited 204 individuals selected from 60,000 pre-service teachers participating in the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program.

To support classroom activities, the ministry prepared a Learning Management System (LMS) that includes digital teaching materials and classroom learning tools.

He expressed hope that SNT will become a environment for children to learn, grow, and achieve, ultimately producing future leaders who make major contributions to their regions and the nation.
