Bandung, Kenzu (ANTARA) – US technology company NVIDIA and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) pushed the development of artificial intelligence (AI) talent through the RTX AI PC Day event to strengthen students’ readiness for the technology’s development.
NVIDIA Indonesia Country Consumer Business Lead Adrian Lesmono said collaboration between industry and universities is important to speed up innovation and improve students’ ability to develop AI-based solutions.
“NVIDIA acts as a catalyst that bridges industry and education to accelerate AI innovation,” Lesmono said here on Wednesday.
He said that through technology support and access to AI computing, NVIDIA encourages students to experiment, build skills, and transform from users into creators of AI solutions.
Lesmono stressed that AI is not a shortcut that replaces scientific understanding, but a technology that can strengthen human ability to answer various real challenges.
“We want to encourage more students to become AI builders who can produce innovations relevant to society and industry,” he said.
Meanwhile, ITB Acting Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Edwan Kardena said AI development in the past two years has been rapid and has brought major changes to education.
According to him, universities need to adapt to this development so AI can support learning without reducing students’ critical thinking ability.
“The presence of AI is an unavoidable development, for both students and lecturers. Therefore, universities need to adapt so the technology can support learning without reducing students’ critical thinking ability,” Kardena said.
On the other hand, AI development requires lecturers to adjust teaching and evaluation methods so learning is oriented not only toward end results, but also encourages students to understand problems, analyze information, and find solutions independently.
“ITB is preparing internal regulations on AI use on campus so the technology is used wisely, evenly, and optimally to support education and research,” he said.
