Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Pertamina Patra Niaga backs the Bali provincial government’s plan to impose an odd-even system for Pertalite fuel purchases from Saturday through Monday, October 19, to help ease supply and distribution pressures.
The rule applies to cars and motorcycles across Bali under Governor I Wayan Koster’s letter, Ahad Rahedi, the company’s communications, relations and CSR manager for the East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara region, said here Saturday.
Pertamina and the provincial government have also agreed to limit refueling to 20 liters per car and 3 liters per motorcycle, he said.
The governor’s letter prioritizes ambulances and fire engines at fuel stations and restricts truck refueling to nighttime hours, Ahad said.
The company hopes the odd-even system will gradually ease queues while keeping 66 stations open around the clock, including 42 in Denpasar and 24 in Badung District.
Pertamina also has support from 100 personnel from the Indonesian military’s Udayana Regional Military Command IX to operate stations at night, while Bali police escort fuel tankers to ensure smooth deliveries.
The measures aim to restore fuel services through stronger supplies, longer station operating hours and improved readiness of vehicles and personnel, Ahad said.
Pertamina urged residents to remain calm and buy fuel according to their needs.
Updates on fuel-station services in Bali are available through Instagram accounts @patraniaga.jatimbalinus and @pertaminabali.
Residents can call Pertamina Contact Center 135 for assistance or further information, Ahad said.
