Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto’s participation in the 18th BRICS Summit as a full member reflects Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen its active role in multilateral cooperation, according to the State Secretariat Ministry.
Prabowo’s attendance at the summit, held in New Delhi, India, on Sept. 12–13, demonstrates Indonesia’s commitment to promoting a balanced and inclusive global economic order that elevates the voice of developing countries, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
Summit leaders will discuss strategic agendas aimed at bolstering cooperation among developing nations.
The gathering is also expected to advance concrete measures to boost collaboration across food, energy, development financing, and trade, the statement noted.
Prabowo arrived in New Delhi at 10:00 p.m. local time on Friday.
He was welcomed at Air Force Station Palam by Indian Minister of State for Coal and Mines Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, Indonesian Embassy Charge d’Affaires ad interim Yudho Sasongko, and local host officials.
Prabowo received a ceremonial reception featuring an honor guard alongside traditional Indian cultural performances.
He departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at 5:00 p.m. local time with a limited delegation.
He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono; Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani; Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto; and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
