Jakarta (ANTARA) -President Prabowo Subianto briefed 800 senior military and police officers on national developments and challenges at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo said the meeting was intended to provide an overview of the challenges and conditions currently facing Indonesia as his administration approaches its two-year mark on October 20.

“I deliberately invited senior officers here ahead of the second anniversary of my administration. I want to present an overview of the conditions we are facing as a nation and as a state,” he said.

Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto attended the forum, describing it as an opportunity to align perspectives and strengthen solidarity and synergy among military personnel in serving the nation and state.

He said the president’s briefing was expected to help the TNI navigate evolving strategic dynamics and increasingly complex challenges, including cyber, information, and hybrid threats.

“Directives from Mr. President will serve as an important reference in determining our steps and policies, while strengthening the TNI’s readiness as the state’s instrument of defense,” Subiyanto said.

National Police (Polri) Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto delivered a similar message, underscoring the importance of the president’s directives.

“Polri remains committed to supporting the government’s policies and priority programs in accordance with our functions and authority,” he said, affirming the force’s readiness to mobilize all available resources in support of government programs.

Seto added that the police would continue to focus on maintaining public security, including through community-based initiatives, while enforcing the law and providing optimal protection and services to the public.
