Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has guaranteed state-subsidised goods will reach the public at their designated subsidised prices.
Speaking at the Nahdlatul Ulama conference at Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java, on Thursday, Prabowo warned against reselling subsidised goods for profit.
He affirmed enforcement would be strengthened through the rollout of tens of thousands of Red and White Village cooperatives across the country.
“Tens of thousands of Red and White Village Cooperatives will be operational soon. We will guarantee all state-subsidised goods reach the people at the lowest possible subsidised prices,” he said during the event streamed on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.

According to him, the nationwide cooperative network is expected to serve as a key distribution channel for the goods, ensuring that government subsidies directly benefit the public.
On that occasion, Prabowo also pointed out that Indonesia is currently facing various challenges, including the impacts of a strong El Nino pattern and the geographic hurdles of an archipelagic nation.
Nevertheless, he expressed optimism, emphasising the country possesses immense strength and natural resources to navigate the obstacles.
“Our nation is strong and is growing stronger,” Prabowo remarked.

He added the government has also identified substantial new natural resource potential, including major gas and gold reserves.
The Ministry of Cooperatives projected around 40,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives would start their operations by the end of 2026, as the government continues to speed up the construction of cooperative-supporting facilities in several regions.
In executing the village cooperatives programme, the government continues to champion a realistic, quality-first approach.
