Prabowo, Thai PM hold one-on-one talks on bilateral cooperation

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul held a one-on-one meeting at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday to discuss a number of bilateral cooperation issues.

As part of his visit to Jakarta, PM Charnvirakul headed directly to the Merdeka Palace after arriving at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta.

His motorcade, escorted by the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), traveled from Halim Perdanakusuma to the Merdeka Palace.

Upon reaching the Medan Merdeka area, the motorcade was joined by Paspampres’ mounted unit, which escorted the Thai premier’s vehicle into the palace grounds.

President Prabowo welcomed PM Charnvirakul upon his arrival at the palace. The two leaders shook hands before the president invited his state guest to attend the official welcoming ceremony.

Following the ceremony, PM Charnvirakul introduced members of the Thai delegation.

President Prabowo then introduced the Indonesian delegation, comprising Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman.

The Indonesian delegation also included Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti, Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency Dony Oskaria, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand Hari Prabowo.

Later in the afternoon at the Merdeka Palace, following their one-on-one meeting, President Prabowo and PM Charnvirakul co-chaired a bilateral meeting. The two leaders also witnessed the exchange of several cooperation documents signed by the two countries before delivering a joint press statement.

Concluding the Thai prime minister’s official visit, President Prabowo hosted a state dinner for PM Charnvirakul and the Thai delegation at the palace.
