Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Child Rights Fulfillment Index increased from 68.87 in 2024 to 70.19 in 2025 during the first two years of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Arifah Fauzi said.
“Data on the fulfillment of children’s rights and special protection shows an improvement from 2024 to 2025. The Child Rights Fulfillment Index rose from 68.87 to 70.19,” Arifah said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Special Child Protection Index also increased, from 80.32 to 81.98.
Arifah added that the child marriage rate declined from 5.90 percent to 4.56 percent, while the proportion of children engaged in labor fell from 2.17 percent to 1.80 percent. These improvements were supported by recovery and prevention initiatives in several regions, including Lombok and Jember.
She said the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection had worked with various stakeholders to support children involved in labor.
As a result, 160 child laborers returned to school, while preventive programs reached 1,379 children at risk of entering child labor.
During the first two years of the Prabowo administration, the ministry has continued to implement strategic measures to improve women’s quality of life, expand access to services for victims of violence, fulfill children’s rights, and strengthen protection for children requiring special protection.
These efforts reflect the ministry’s contribution to advancing the administration’s Asta Cita agenda and the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) in support of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, which aims to transform Indonesia into a developed nation.
Arifah said the past two years had served as a reminder that every policy should address women’s aspirations for independence and children’s hopes of growing up free from fear.
“Strategic indicators show a positive trend. Job opportunities for women are expanding, child marriage and child labor are declining, and protection services for victims of violence are becoming more widespread,” she said.
