Jakarta (ANTARA) – Sakuranesia Foundation held the Humanity, Earth and Life (HEAL) International Conference 2026 as part of the Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) 2026, aiming to strengthen collaboration among Indonesia, Japan, and Russia in the fields of culture, education, innovation, and humanitarian affairs.
Sakuranesia Foundation founder Tovic Rustam said in a statement released in Jakarta on Monday that today’s global challenges cannot be addressed by a single country or discipline, but require collaboration across nations, cultures, and generations.
“Through the HEAL International Conference, we seek to build a sustainable future for humanity and the planet while strengthening friendship among Indonesia, Japan, and Russia as a foundation for broader global cooperation in the future,” he said.
Tovic explained that this year’s conference, held alongside JFC 2026, adopted the theme “Co-Creating a Sustainable Future for Humanity and the Earth.”
The event was designed as an international dialogue platform to encourage cross-border collaboration in building a sustainable future through the integration of innovation, culture, education, technology, and humanitarian values.
To reinforce the international dimension of JFC 2026, Sakuranesia facilitated the participation of around 100 delegates from Japan, who joined the conference, carnival, and cultural exchange programs, including the Gaia-themed carnival parade.
Japanese artist and Sakuranesia Foundation chairman Sakura Ijuin said the Gaia parade symbolizes the hope that the world’s cultural diversity can become a source of strength in creating a more harmonious future.
“The theme Co-Creating a Sustainable Future for Humanity and the Earth is not only the conference’s theme but also the spirit embodied in the Gaia parade,” Ijuin said.
During the conference, Russian artist and speaker Aleksandra Gamova highlighted the importance of human-centered innovation.
Another Russian artist, Olga Shpilko, said culture serves as a bridge connecting people around the world.
Representing Indonesia, filmmaker and Secretary General of the Institute for Friendship Among Islamic Organizations (LPOI), KH Imam Pituduh, said the world’s greatest challenge is not technology, but human behavior.
Meanwhile, Tokutaro Nakai, Representative Director of The Millennium Sustainability Foundation, said a sustainable future can only be achieved through collaboration across countries, cultures, and generations, ensuring that technological progress advances in harmony with humanitarian values.
“A sustainable future is built through cross-border, cross-cultural, and intergenerational collaboration. Technology must evolve alongside humanitarian values so that it delivers tangible benefits for both people and the planet,” he said.
Nakai noted that people-to-people relations are the cornerstone of future international cooperation. When people from different countries learn from one another, respect one another, and work together, peace and sustainability can develop naturally.
Indonesia-Japan cooperation was also demonstrated through the donation of premium flowers by Cavin Inc. of Fukuoka, Japan, which were channeled through the Sakuranesia Foundation to support the staging of Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) 2026.
Cavin Inc. Chief Executive Officer Yuta Komatsu, popularly known as Roy, said the company was proud to contribute to one of Indonesia’s largest cultural events through the donation of premium flowers from Japan.
Roy said the beauty of flowers symbolizes more than aesthetics, serving as a bridge of friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural exchange between Japan and Indonesia.
The event concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as a symbol of the participants’ commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation among Indonesia, Japan, and Russia.
