Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto confirmed the digitalisation of social aid programme has been underway across 153 districts and cities in 38 provinces as the government seeks more accurate and transparent distribution.
“As of today, the digitised registration for Family Hope Programme (PKH) and the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) programme has been in operational in 153 districts and cities across 38 provinces,” he said in a statement received here in Jakarta on Saturday.
The president made the remarks during his State of the Nation Address at the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Annual Session and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) in Jakarta, on Friday (August 14).

According to him, over three million families have signed up for the programmes, moving toward the target of 49 million registered families and representing more than 50 percent of Indonesian households upon full rollout.
Prabowo also emphasised the social protection must become better targeted, easily accessible, and delivered with greater dignity, thereby prompting the government to digitalise registration for both the PKH and the food assistance initiative.
President Prabowo noted the digitalisation also cuts costs and saves time for low-income communities seeking social assistance.

Previously, underprivileged families spent an estimated Rp150,000 on transportation, documents, photocopies, and lost wages.
“Now, registration is completely free of cost. Eligibility checks that used to take quite some time can now be completed in a matter of minutes or hours,” he said.
President Prabowo emphasised that low-income families should not have to pay out of pocket to prove their economic status in order to be eligible for the assistance.
The president reaffirmed the digitalisation drive will continue to be expanded to other government social assistance and subsidies.
The move is part of an integrated pro-welfare agenda aimed at improving targeting accuracy, transparency, and public access.
