Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s immigration authorities took 11 foreign nationals into custody over suspected immigration violations during a joint operation in Cengkareng and Kosambi, Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday, November 4.
Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office Head Komang Trisna Diatmika said in Tangerang, Banten Province, on Thursday that the 11 foreigners were undergoing further intensive questioning.
“We are conducting further examinations of 11 foreign nationals. The next steps for each individual will depend on the examination results,” he said.
Komang said 77 immigration officers took part in the operation, targeting several company premises and apartment complexes in the two areas.
The operation resulted in the questioning of 11 foreigners: eight Chinese nationals, two Pakistanis, and one Nigerian, he said.
Preliminary examinations indicated that five Chinese nationals, identified by the initials WQ, HL, HH, XS, and YJ, were suspected of misusing their residence permits.
“They are subject to Article 122(a) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration,” he said.
Two Pakistani nationals, identified as MAS and FM, were suspected of violating Article 71(a) of the Immigration Law by failing to report changes in their residential addresses.
“Officers are also investigating possible immigration violations involving three Chinese nationals, identified as YC, FC, and YW, and one Nigerian national, identified as CKE,” he said.
Komang said the findings would provide the legal basis for determining immigration administrative measures under Article 75(1) of the Immigration Law.
“We will not tolerate any form of immigration violation. We will maintain continuous oversight to ensure public order and address every finding through due process, in line with our commitment to serving the public,” he said.
