Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday appointed Suahasil Nazara as finance minister, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa in a cabinet reshuffle at the State Palace in Jakarta.
Suahasil becomes the third finance minister under Prabowo, who took office in October 2024. Purbaya was appointed finance minister on Sept. 8, 2025, replacing longtime Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
Suahasil’s appointment was stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 97/P of 2026 concerning the dismissal and appointment of the finance minister for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term. The decree was signed by Prabowo on Sept. 14.
“I will remain loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and faithfully uphold all laws and regulations for the sake of my service to the nation and state,” Suahasil said as he took the oath of office, administered by the President.
Suahasil then signed the inauguration report, which was also signed and witnessed by Prabowo.
Prabowo subsequently congratulated Suahasil and his family, while other government officials attending the ceremony also offered their congratulations.
The inauguration was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several coordinating ministers from Prabowo’s Red and White Cabinet.
