Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Andika Perkasa ensured that the selection of the TNI Academy cadets for the 2022 academic year is based on TNI standards.
“I will do “panthukir” (final observation) as a form of final verification so that the cadets are selected according to the standards and ideology of the TNI academy,” Perkasa said on his official YouTube channel, here on Sunday.
Perkasa said the selection of the TNI Academy cadets for the 2022 academic year has begun, and he directly led the meeting to form the selection committee.
He pointed out, mental and ideological aspects as well as loyalty to Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution are one of the main parameters for selecting prospective cadets.
Several examinations are carried out by the selection committee and Perkasa will go down to conduct a final verification to ensure that the cadets uphold the ideological standards of the TNI Academy.
“I would like to send a team there a few days ahead of my pantukhir. The final observation is like a verification, (to find out) which selected cadets were not by the actual conditions,” he said.
Panthukir or final observation is carried out by the final decision committee who consists of authorized TNI high-ranking officers.
Through the final verification stage, he expected that the selected cadets can become commissioned officers (perwira) in the future.
“So to ensure they are right (to the standards) or not, we have the standards that cannot be broken,” he said.
Furthermore, he asked the TNI ranks to ascertain what needs to be prepared for the latest development in the selection process for the 2022 TNI Academy cadets.
“Prepare, schedule, and give a short description of each one, especially the worst ones. Each rank must hold an internal meeting on what ought to be checked,” Perkasa added.
