Magelang, Central Java (ANTARA) – Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor said the ministry continues to strengthen vocational education and internship programs to improve young people’s skills and readiness to enter the workforce in line with industry needs and labor market developments.
Speaking in Magelang, Central Java, on Friday, Noor said that certified skills are an important asset for graduates seeking jobs and competing in the labor market.
He made the remarks after delivering a briefing on strengthening young people’s skills and competitiveness at Tidar University, Magelang.
He said the ministry is developing a national vocational program targeting senior high school and vocational high school graduates. The program aims to equip participants with skills that meet the needs of businesses and industries.
Besides the national vocational program, he said, the ministry also runs the national internship program, known as MagangHub, which provides participants to gain direct work experience.
He noted the third batch of the MagangHub program opens opportunities for 150,000 participants, with registration scheduled for October 27 to November 1, 2026.
The national vocational program aims to reach 250,000 people, particularly senior high school and vocational high school graduates who need to improve their skills to enter the labor market.
According to him, the first and second batches of the MagangHub program ran smoothly. The government expressed hope that the program can continue to benefit participants in gaining experience and improving work readiness.
Noor added that strengthening vocational education is part of the government’s effort to expand access to competence improvement for young people.
Through both programs, the ministry hopes more graduates will acquire relevant skills, work experience, and skill certification as preparation for entering the workforce.
