Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin reached Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Tuesday evening as part of an eight-day visit that will also take him to Egypt.
Amin and his wife Wury Ma’ruf Amin arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 3:22 p.m. local time after an eight-hour flight from Jakarta.
Upon their arrival at the airport, they were greeted by UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Far Almazrouei; Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE, Husin Bagis; and Indonesian defense attach? in Riyadh, Brigadier General Putut Witjaksono.
The guard of honor of the UAE government also greeted the Indonesian Vice President upon arrival.
During his Abu Dhabi visit, Amin is scheduled to meet UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) at Al Shatie Palace on Wednesday to discuss a number of strategic issues between the two countries.
He will also meet the president and secretary general of Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace (ADFP) at Hotel Emirates Palace and deliver a speech at the 9th ADFP meeting.

The Vice President and his entourage will leave for Dubai on Wednesday evening to carry out a series of activities.
On Thursday, Amin is scheduled to hold talks with representatives of Dubai Holding at Hotel Raffles and representatives of the Publisher Global Islamic Index institution at the same hotel.
On Friday, the fourth day of his visit, he will visit the Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) branch in Dubai. He will then proceed with his journey to Cairo, Egypt, on Friday evening.
In Cairo, he will meet Indonesian students and the diaspora community at the Indonesian Embassy on Saturday. He will also witness the handover of scholarships from the National Alms Board (Baznas) to 300 Indonesian students currently studying in Egypt.

On Sunday, he will visit the Egyptian National Civilization Museum and later depart from Sharm El Sheikh to attend a series of meetings held as part of the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27).
On the seventh day of his visit, that is on Monday, he will attend the opening of COP27 at Sharm El Sheikh International Convention Center, where he will deliver a national statement on the high-level segment.
On Tuesday, he will attend the second day of the high-level segment. Before returning home to Jakarta, he will visit Indonesian Pavilion at the Sharm El Sheikh International Convention Center.
