Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto outlined four guiding principles of his administration as he began his State of the Nation Address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD).
“To fulfill the promises I have made and the oath I took as President of the Republic of Indonesia, I have led the government of the Republic of Indonesia for 21 months based on four main guiding principles,” Prabowo said at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Friday.
The first principle, says Prabowo, is to uphold and implement the mandates of the Constitution, namely the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
“Second, we work to uphold, carry out, and protect vital core national interests. This includes preserving and optimally managing Indonesia’s national wealth so that it can be fully utilized for the prosperity of all Indonesian people,” the President said.
Regarding the third principle, the President continued, the government works to resolve the difficulties faced by the people as quickly as possible.
“Fourth, in carrying out our work, we are always oriented toward the interests of the people, as well as the interests of their children and grandchildren,” Prabowo added.
President then acknowledged that, after 21 months in office, not all of his promises to the people had been fully realized, nor had all of the nation’s problems been fully resolved.
Nevertheless, the President noted that in less than two years, the government had begun to resolve some complex national issues.
The 2026 Annual Session of the MPR RI and Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI were attended by 629 of the 732 total MPR RI members, comprising members of the DPR RI and the DPD RI.
The state of the nation address delivered during the MPR RI Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI was part of the series of events commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s independence.
The 2026 MPR Annual Session was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, seventh President Joko Widodo, 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, 11th Vice President Boediono, 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin; and members of the Red and White Cabinet.
Besides, heads of state institutions: Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Commander of the Indonesian National Defence Forces General Agus Subiyanto, Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and some political party leaders also joined the agenda.
